Jerry Jeff's new cd, "It's About Time," contains some of the best recordings of his long, storied career, and, yes, that is saying a lot. There are songs to put some pep in you and there are songs that make one reflect and think about where you stand in your own life. I would single out "Rain Song" as a song that shows the courage and honesty of Jerry Jeff as he relates how he has had to make changes in his life. The song also is beautifully performed and arranged, it's Jerry Jeff at his very best. The entire cd is a pleasure to listen to and think about. Credit should also be given to the fine group of musicians who play on the cd. The playing is fresh, crisp and right in time. This is one great cd!
have every recording of his...one of my favorite performers...sending him prayers and hugs...hoping he has a full recovery...
A great album, especially the cover of Guy Clarks "My favorite picture of you". It is too bad that there was no further information send with this album.
Great new songs. Thanks for making a new album!
"It's About Time" is good music. It has the Guy Clark song Jerry Jeff sang on the "Tribute to Guy Clark" CD , "My Favorite Picture of you". The songs are familiar ballad melodies with Jerry Jeff's familiar voice and intonations. Quite enjoyable
After all these years (and I own every piece of music that's he's published) and watching him live both in the US & Belize, this album still has his charm written all over it
It's great to hear JJW again and with new songs as well!
an album/CD that has the treasured JJ sound and feel. I spend a lot of time on the road and this will be a cherished
The new CD is awesome. I've listened to the Rain Song at least 20 times and every time I listen There is another relatable line that I hadn't picked up on before. Lastly, I have to admit that I almost teared up when I listened to Old Shep. I haven't heard this song since I was a kid, 60 years ago but it still tugs at my heart strings. Jerry Jeff, thanks for the memory!!
